C.A.B.A WOOD BAT Postetter Deals
- Lux Homes Beat Shockers 6-3
(07/25/07) Lux Homes played the
Shockers in Game 2 of the CABA Open and found fell behind early
allowing 2 runs in the 1st. In the 3rd, the Shockers scored
another run and had runners in scoring position when they turned to
Jeff Postetter for relief. The big right hander took control of the
game from that point forward. 'Potts' threw just 54 pitches in
4 2/3 innings allowing
Lux Wins vs Mountainview (07/25/07) Lux Homes opened the CABA Open Championship against the Mountainview Lions today in Tacoma at Bellermine HS and came out victorious 7-2. After allowing 2 runs in the 1st, the Lux pitching staff shut down the Lions for the rest of the game allowing just 2 runners to reach 3rd base the rest of the game. Jon Buttermore fired the first 3 innings and turned the ball over to Jeff Donovan who shut down the Lions for the next 3 frames before closer Chad Bickerdike finished the 7th. Offensively, Lux had 11 base hits scoring in 5 different innings to pull away. Lux scored in the 2nd when Bickerdike knocked in Tyler Zeman with a single. In the 3rd tied the game at 2 when Learned singled, moved to 3rd on a hit by Alex Stanford and then scored on a fielders choice by Tyler Zeman. Lux opened things up in the 4th when Ryan Neumann singled and scored on Adam McNaghten's double to deep left. McNaghten then scored on a liner to center by Danny Kelley who also came in to score on a double by Gio Learned. In the 6th McNaghten led off with his second double and was knocked in again by Kelley. The final run was tallied by Craig Jacobsen.
BABE RUTH STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS Lux Homes went 2-1 and placed 3rd this weekend at the Babe Ruth State Championships in Port Agneles qualifying them for Regionals. Last minute changes in the tournament set up made for a disappointing event for the Lux fans and an opening game loss proved to be fatal to a State Championship hopes for Lux as the format did not allow for a true double elim event. "I am disappointed we didn't get a chance to come all the way back thru the losers bracket. I think we were of the caliber to take this thing' said Coach Smith. "Win 'em all and I guess you don't have to worry about it' he added.
Lux Pounds Ball - Stops Wilder 11-1 (07/21/07) Lux Homes stroked 11 base hits inlcuding 5 for extra bases enroute to a 5 inning victory over a solid Wilder baseball team. Danny Kelley led the game off with a double and scored on a Alex Stanford triple. Stanford then scored a a deep Sac Fly by Tyler Zeman. Pitcher Jon Buttermore helped his own cuase in the 2nd knocking in Gio Learned with a single to left. Lux opened the 4th on a Ryan Neumann single and scored on a single by Adam McNaghten. Kelley & Stanford filled the bases and Tyler Zeman blast a two out double to score all 3 runs. In the 5th Lux scored 4 more times behind hits by McNaghten, Kelley, & JB Millet. Tyler Zeman ended the game with his 6th RBI of the contest on a walk off single to plate Kelley. Jon Buttmore was dominant again on the hill giving up two hits against a very good club striking out 5.
LUX GIVES GAME 1 AWAY (07/19/07) Lux Homes played poorly in a first round loss to the Buzz allowing several unearned runs on 8 errors. Danny Kelly was 2-2 and Tyler Zeman homered in the loss.
LUX WINS
IN EXTRA (07/14/07) In
the final game of the regular season and the 11th game in a 9 day
span, a weary Lux Homes found themselves in a dog fight with EBC at
Lee Johnson but prevailed 11-10 in extra innings. Lux swung it
well with 10 different players getting base hits but they could not
put EBC away. JB Millet scored in the first ona double by Alex
Stanford who then scored himself when Kraig Strum doubled. Adam
McNaghten knocked in Gio Learned in the 2nd with a single to center.
In the 3rd Chad Bickerdike plated Stanford with his 2nd hit of the
game. However, EBC was able to score 5 in the 5th to take the lead.
Lux returned the favor in the bottom of the frame behind a 2 RBI
double from Ryan Neumann and an RBI single by Millet. Again
EBC found a way to score runs and the 7th ended with the score
knotted at 10. Enter Jeff Donovan who pitched Lux out of a jam
to end the 7th and threw a perfect 8th
Lux Takes Lakeside (07/13/07) Lux Homes celebrated a Friday night under the lights at Peter Kirk Parks Lee Johnson field hosting Lakeside for the back half of a double dip. Lux got the lead early when Chad Bickerdike & Corey Hall singled in the 2nd and with 2 outs Ryan Neumann singled to right to score Bick. Adam McNaghten then laced a ball to right center to score Hall and give Lux a 2-0 lead. JB Millet doubled to open the 3rd and scored on a Tyler Zeman single. Lux starter Jon Buttermore threw well again spreading 5 hits in among 6 strike outs in 6 2/3 innings. Relief was shaky and Lakeside loaded the bases in the 7th. Lux then turned to Mr. Reliable Jeff Donovan who fisted a Lakeside hitter to preserve the 5-4 win for LB.

Brewers Beat Lux 5-3 (07/11/07) Lux battled the Washington Brewers this evening at Denny Park falling 5-3. Lux had many opportunities to win leaving the bases loaded in both the 6th & 7th innings - stranding 9 runners in scoring position on the day. "You can't do that too often & win but especially against a good club like these guys' Coach Conover said. "It was a good game - we just missed our chances' he added.
Donovan Fires Shut Out (07/10/07) Lux opened the week at Peter Kirk Park Tuesday and Jeff Donovan felt right at home. The Lux starter was dominant against a very good Washington Warrior club throwing a 3-hit shut out leading Lux to 7-0 victory. Donovan threw just over 70 pitches in a complete game allowing just one Warrior to reach 2nd base. Gio Learned led two Lux rallies off with hits including a towering double in the 4th. Gio scored both times on singles by Ryan Neumann & BJ Leach. Tyler Zeman launched an RBI double in the 5th and was a vacuum at 3rd base with 3 outstanding plays on the day in support of Donovan who tallied another win for the good guys.

to the wire in Game 2 this afternoon with Lux coming out on top in
dramatic fashion 4-3. Tied 1-1 thru the 3rd, BJ Leach led off
with a single and later scored on a Danny Kelley Sac Fly. Gio

Rainier's Take Game 1 (07/08/07) Lux Homes played the Seattle Rainier's this afternoon at BCC and Seattle took the first game 6-0 behind a solid pitching performance. Lux allowed a big inning in the 3rd and never got back on track. Danny Kelley had a pair of base hits for Lux and Jack Grant threw 3 scoreless innings in relief.
Lux Beats Barons 8-5 (07/07/07) Lux Homes won the front end of the double header against the Washington Barons this afternoon 8-5 at BCC. The Barons jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead but Lux scored 4 in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead on 2 out hits by Chad Bickerdike, Kraig Strum, Gio Learned and BJ Leach. Lux rallied again scoring 4 more runs in the 4th inning with Alex Stanford banging his 3rd homer of the year - a 2 run shot over the right field wall. Starter Paddy Levitt battled thru the 6th to get the Win before turning the ball over to Bickerdike who was lights out in the 7th.
Lux Drops Night Cap (07/07/07) The Barons hit well and capitalized on costly errors to down Lux Homes in the back end of the double dip 15-7. Lux allowed 6 unearned runs in the fatal 4th and could not mount enough to cover their mistakes. Adam McNaghten laced a 2 out double scoring Danny Kelley & BJ Leach in the 2nd. JB Millet plated McNaghten & Kelley on a 4th inning double and Corey Hall had an RBI double but the Barons offense matched Lux blow for blow not letting Lux back in the game and earned a split on the day.
Lux Sweeps - Hall & Gio go Yatzee (07/04/07) Lux & the Riverdawgs fought hard again in Game 2 of the double header. The Riverdawgs jumped out to the lead early and scored twice in the 3rd to go up 3-1. In the bottom of inning Corey Hall made it alittle closer putting a 2-2 curve ball over the wall in left for his 1st dinger of the year. In the 4th Hall delivered again knocking in Gio Learned & Chad Bickerdike with a 2 out double giving Lux the lead. The Riverdawgs answered with a 3 spot in the 5th to take a 2-run lead. Lux then opened their half of the 5th with a walk, and 3 consecutive hits with a single by Adam McNaghten, a double by Alex Stanford and tied the game with a double by Tyler Zeman. With the scored knotted at 6, Learned stepped up and promptly delivered a towering 2 run home run to give Lux a lead they would not relinquish. Paddy Levitt closed the 7th for Lux preserving the lead and giving Lux Homes the 9-6 victory and the sweep.
Buttermore Strong against Riverdawgs (07/04/07) Coming back recently after an school ball injury and working through some relief appearances, Lux pitcher Jon Buttermore got back into the starting rotation for the first time today against the Snohomish Riverdawgs at the UW. He delivered a great performance throwing just 80 pitches in a complete game effort that resulted in a Lux victory. Butter struck out 5 walked just 1. "Great to have him back - makes us much better as a staff' noted Coach Conover. The Lux offense was led by Chad Bickerdike who had 3 RBI including the game winners in the bottom of the 6th on a 2 out drive to left.
Honda Gets Even (07/01/07) Bellevue Honda jumped to a big early lead that Lux could no over come to even the series. Lux pitching had trouble finding the zone and Honda took full advantage of their opportunities. Lux was lead offensively by BJ Leach who went 3-4 with a double off the left center wall, Tyler Zeman who was also 3-4 and Chuck Pierce who knocked in 3 on the day.
LB Takes Liberty 6-1 (06/30/07) Jeff Donovan took the hill in Game 1 today at Liberty and earned another win. Dono allowed just 5 hits and 1 run thru 6 innings. The Lux offense sparked in the 1st with singles by JB Millet, Adam McNaghten and an RBI double by Tyler Zeman who went 3-4. Chad Bickerdike then knocked Zeman in with the 4th consecutive hit of the inning. Lux scored 3 more in the 6th when BJ Leach doubled in Corey Hall & Kraig Strum. Chad Bickerdike threw the 7th and Lux won 6-1
Liberty Gets Game 2 (06/30/07) Lux & Liberty battled tight thru 5 with the scored tied 2-2 until the Cannons plated 3 to pull away. Lux bats went cold allowing Liberty to take one away from them
Lux Beats EBC - McNaghten Goes Yack Nard ! (06/28/07) Lux Homes battled EBC tonight at the U of W and LB came out on top 9-1 behind solid pitching and a 3 run home run by junior center fielder Adam McNagthen. With 2 outs and runners on & the game still close, McNaghten drove a 2-1 pitch over the left center wall scoring Corey Hall & Jeff Donovan putting Lux way out front. BJ Leach had two hits, Gio Learned smoked a double off the wall & Chad Bickerdike doubled in a run. Lux pitchers Jeff Postetter, Jon Buttermore & Jack Grant continued to throw well allowing just two EBC hits on the day.
Arizona Premier Tournament Lux Drops Finals to Arizona Clash Collegiate (6/24/07) Lux Homes matched up against a solid Clash collegiate squad in the final game of the tourney and fell behind early. Pitcher Jack Grant threw well but the Lux offense couldn't get him the support until very late. Kraig Strum had a pair of base hits including a double and Chuck Pierce had 2 RBI as Lux lost 9-6. Bickerdike Explodes - Millet & Zeman Stay Hot in Arizona (06/23/07) Chad BIckerdike traveled to Phoenix carrying a big, big stick and he used it this afternoon in a big way. Bick knocked in 4 runs on a single, 2 doubles and a massive Home Run against the Arizona Clash senior. JB Millet stayed as hot as the weather as did Tyler Zeman. Millet went 3-4 knocking in a pair of runs & Zeman matched the Lux 2nd baseman with 3 more hits and 2 RBI. Paddy Levitt started on the hill & earned the win for Lux. Jon Buttermore made his return to the staff and pitched in relief. Midwest Nationals Beat Lux (06/23/07) Lux had a quick turnaround with an 8 AM start this morning and played like they were still in bed for the first 2 innings and the Nationals took full advantage of it. Lux woke up to find themselves behind 8-0 going into the 3rd. Consecutive hits by Adam McNaghten, JB Millet, Alex Stanford and Tyler Zeman and some good base running cut the lead in half. However, Lux could only muster a single by BJ Leach and a Zeman double in the back half of the game and lost their 1st game on the tourney.
LB Wins Big over Mustang Junior (06/22/07) In game 2 of the Arizona Premier and with temperatures still over 112 degrees, Lux was matched with the Dallas Mustang Jr. team. Lux quickly found themselves down 4-0 after the 1st inning but then broke out and scored in each of the next 5 frames to put Dallas away 16-6. JB Millet and Alex Stanford each stroked 3 base hits. Tyler Zeman had two more hits and as many RBI and scored on a Chad Bickerdike triple in the 3rd to give Lux the lead they would not give up. Jeff Donovan battled thru the shaky start of his defense and allowed just 3 hits after the 1st inning to earn the win. Zeman - Leach Lead Lux over Dallas (06/22/06) Lux Homes opened with a tough Dallas Mustangs (senior) club at a sweltering Phoenix College and won the front end of the doubleheader 6-0 in 116 degree temperatures. Lux faced the Dallas ace - the Mustangs ran into a white hot teammates Tyler Zeman & BJ Leach. Zeman had 6 RBI's on the day - all the offense Lux starter Leach would need as he threw his 3rd consecutive shut out. Adam McNaghten, Kraig Strum and Zeman all doubled in the win.
Lux Leans on Levitt for 3-0 Win (06/16/07) Paddy Levitt got the nod to pitch on short notice and delivered in aces against the Generals. Levitt gave up 1 hit over 4 innings striking out 3 while allowing just one runner to reach 2nd base. 'He threw with a ton of confidence - very fluid all day' said Coach Smith. Jeff Donovan threw two scoreless innings and Chris Spencer earned the Save closing out the 7th. Lux took advantage of a General's error and couple singles by Corey Hall & BJ Leach to take the early lead. Gio Learned tallied the final run with aggressive base running scoring from 2nd on a wild pitch. Danny Kelley made the 'Play of the Day' with an unassisted double play on a liner to 3rd to end the game.
Lux Explodes Over Generals 14-4 (6/16/07) Lux Homes scored in bunches this afternoon behind a 12 hit attack and another solid pitching performance by BJ Leach. In his second complete game outing in as many attempts, Leach kept the Cascade Generals off balance all day. Offensively, Lux rallied behind the 4 for 4 day from Chad Bickerdike who had 3 RBI's. Tyler Zeman, Gio Learned and Danny Kelley also had 2 RBI on a pair of base hits each.
Spencer Deals - Zeman Swings LB Over Lakeside 06/13/07 Lux Homes met Lakeside this afternoon and came away with a 6-4 victory in league play. Chuck Pierce scored from 1st on an Alex Stanford triple in the 3rd. Lux plated 3 more in the 4th and the game stayed knotted at 4 through the 6th. In the top of the 7th Danny Kelley led off with a walk, stole 2nd and then scored on a two out single by Tyler Zeman to give Lux the lead. Lux pitcher Chris Spencer was consistent all day allowing just 4 Lakeside hits through 6 innings before turning the ball over to closer Chad Bickerdike who dominated the 7th striking out 2 to end it.
Kelley, Levitt Carry Lux Past Northshore 06/12/07 Paddy Levitt earned the Win this evening and Danny Kelley had 3 hits as Lux battled through a poor start to beat the Northshore Chiefs at the UW. Down 6-1 early Lux found relief in Levitt who threw zero's over the final 3 frames to put LB in a position to win. Lux took advantage of opportunities and scored 12 times over those same 3 innings to get the victory. Adam McNaghten reached base 5 times in the game scoring 4 runs & BJ Leach plated 3 on a bases loaded double .
Palouse Summer Series Tournament Rain Washes Sunday in Pullman (6/10/07) Lux vs Clark County was rained out Lux Falls to Pullman in Nail Biter. (6/9)07 A great game that got away form Lux left LB going home out of championship contention in the Palouse Series. Knotted at 2 in the 7th, Pullman took advantage of close calls and a timely base hit to beat Lux. Jeff Donovan threw an outstanding game battling good hitters and a questionable strike zone. "It was the best game I have seen Dono throw all year' said Lux catcher Gio Learned. Dono struck out 3 allowing 5 base hits threw 6 1/3. Offensively Learned had two hits and knocked in 2 runs on a double and a single. Lux hit the ball hard all day but couldn't get a timely hit when needed leaving 8 runners in scoring position on the day. Leach Spins Shut Out 6/7/07 Senior BJ Leach got the nod in Game 2 of the Palouse Tournament and came thru in flying colors for Lux Homes. Leach allowed just 3 hits throwing a complete game shut out of the Edmonton Cardinals in the rematch. Leach had devastating stuff keeping the Cardinals off balance recording 13 ground ball outs. Offensively Lux was led by Alex Stanford, Adam McNaghten & Tyler Zeman who each tallied a pair of base hits in the 7-0 Lux win. Edmonton Wins Game 1 06/06/07 The opening game of the Palouse Tourney started well enough. Lux had an early lead and Jeff Postetter was throwing a no-hiiter through 4 innings. A couple walks, a couple errors and a timely hit and Lux found themselves down 4 runs entering the 6th and could not overcome the deficit. Tyler Zeman, JB Millet each had multi-hits games in the disappointing loss.

Comeback Up Ends Bankers (6/3/07)
Lux scored 6 runs the bottom of the 7th and took home a big win over
the Bankers 13-12 in the back half of their DH today at BCC. Lux scored 3 times in the 1st and 1 more in the 2nd but Bankers bats
were too much and Lux eventually found themselves down 12-4 in the
6th. Lux strung 4 hits together from Hilton Richardson, Chad Bickerdike, Gio The win was the 5th in 7 games on the week for a busy Lux squad who plays again Wednesday before heading to W.S.U. next weekend.
Bremerton Beats LB (6/3/07) Lux led 2-1 in the 5th when the wheels fell off and Bremerton scored 12 times in the the final 3 frames to take the first game of the year vs. Lux. A timely Lux error and some solid hitting by Bremerton opened the flood gates. Lux battled back to score 2 in each the 6th & 7th innings but it was not enough to overcome the big lead. Kraig Strum & BJ Leach had a pair of base hits. JB Millet went 3-3 with an RBI and scored twice. Corey Hall blasted a triple and Hilton Richardson banged two 3-baggers on the day. Run Stops at 4 vs Liberty (6/1/07) The baseball gods were not with Lux this afternoon in the 6-4 loss to Liberty. Liberty hits off of good pitches at very critical times proved to be the difference. Tyler Zeman had a pair of base hits including an RBI double and Gio Learned had a RBI triple in the loss.
Gio Bangs - Dono Deals in Win over Honda (5/31/07) Lux Homes ran their streak to 4 in a row with an 11-2 victory over Bellevue Honda this afternoon at B.C.C. Lux catcher Gio Learned pounded the ball finishing the day 4-4 with 2 doubles, 3 RBI's and 2 Runs scored. "Gio is a stud ! He loves to hit in this park" said Coach McCracken. Chuck Pierce and Danny Kelley had a pair of hits and Tyler Zeman added a triple in 14 hit Lux attack. Jeff Donovan got some defense behind him including an outstanding play up the middle by SS Alex Stanford to end 4th. Donovan struck out 6 and walked 2 in 6 2/3 innings to get the win.
Lux Wins 2nd Round vs Chaffey (5/30/07) After this weekend's pitching duel between Lux & Chaffey, the rematch was quite the contrast as Lux won 15-9. The two clubs scored a total of 24 runs on 25 hits - 4 of which were home runs. Alex Stanford went 3-4 on the day with 4 RBI, 4 Runs scored and banged his 2nd Home run of the year. Hilton Richardson had 3 hits on the afternoon and scored on a clutch 3-run Homer by Kraig Strum in the 6th that gave Lux the lead they would not relinquish. Defensively, Stanford had a great game at SS with two outstanding plays to thwart Chaffey rallies.
Memorial Day Tournament Lux Beats Wenatchee (5/28/07) Lux scored in bunches this afternoon and tallied an 11 - 1 victory over Wenatchee at the UW. Alex Stanford had a big day at the plate with 3 hits including a triple and a 3 run bomb in the 3rd to do the most damage. Chad Bickerdike & Kraig Strum also pounded doubles. Four Lux pitchers allowed just 5 hits on the day with Paddy Levitt posting his first W of the year. Spencer leads Lux over Chaffey (05/28/07) Lux and Chaffey met for the first time this year and LB came out on top 2-1. Lux right hander Chris Spencer took full advantage of his first outing going the distance for the win. Very efficient in the effort and enjoying solid defense behind him, Spencer was 2 outs into the 6th before allowing the first Chaffey hit. He finished allowing 3 hits in his first victory of the season. Alex Stanford, Chuck Pierce, Kraig Strum and Adam McNaghten swung it well for Lux who scored the game winner in the top of the 7th. Lux Defense Rusty in Opener (05/26/07) In the preseason opener Lux saw the good, the bad and the ugly. Solid hitting and outstanding base running was a real positive. as Lux scored 8 times. Gio Learned laced 2 doubles plating 3 runs as did Chad Bickerdike and JB Millet who also had two hits on the day. However, the Lux defense wasn't so sharp with 5 errors on the day - 4 in the fatal 5th inning. "We definitely did not play to our potential' commented Coach Smith. "It was a disappointing outcome but we need a few games to figure out some things. We'll work all that out' he noted.
