Neumann to Catch at Olympic CC

Ryan Neumann will back stop at Olympic CC this coming season. Neumann is a 2 year starter for Lux and caught the past 3 springs for Coach Bingham at Lake Washington.  Awesome job Ry !!

Postetter To Toss for Stags

Inglemoor grad and two year starter in the Lux rotation, Jeff Postetter has accepted a scholarship for athletics and academics and will pitch for MontClare University this coming season. Outstanding Pots !

Rubideaux Signs With Olympic

Redmond HS senior Josh Rubideaux had an outstanding summer for Lux Baseball and as a result of his effort, has accepted a scholarship to pitch at Olympic CC. Congrats Rubie !

 

Lux 3-1 at Tacoma Tourney

Lux went 3-1 to finish 3rd at the Tacoma Summer Series Tournament. Wins over Redmond Oregon and EBC put Lux in a showdown with the Brewers Sunday morning. A good game between two solid teams was marred by poor officiating and the Brewers moved on with a 4-2 win. Lux rebounded with a convincing victory over Redmond for 3rd place.  Catch up in 'Game Recaps'

 

Lux Goes 4-1 at Skagit

Lux took a share of the Skagit Valley Invitational championship with a win Sunday beating a very good Washington Brewers  club 7-5.  On a 25-4 run over the last month, Lux earns the hardware for the second weekend in a row.

 

Lux Wins John Nero

Lux Homes continued their hot streak in the Winner's Bracket finals on Monday with a 9 inning victory over home town favorite H.P.S.  Lux then exploded in the Championship game scoring 14 times to run a perfect 6-0 for the weekend and win the John Nero Wood Bat Tournament Championship. Miracle League Huge Success

Lux Baseball enjoyed their participation with Miracle League again this year.  Proud of the boys and girls who came out and played baseball this year and proud of the Lux boys for their commitment to their community.

 

Edmonds Sign Stanford & Semler

Inglemoor SS Alex Stanford and Lake Washington HS outfielder Joey Semler have signed formal commitments to play for NWAAC champion Edmonds CC this coming year.  Congrats to both and keep up the great work.

 

Virant Lost for atleast a Month

Mason Virant suffered a potential season ending injury breaking his left wrist diving for a ball. The junior from Seattle Prep had been trying to play through the injury for several games until a second series of X-rays determined the extent of the injury.

 

 

Wilson In All State Game

Redmond HS senior Tim Wilson earned special honors this week being chosen to play in the All State game. Wilson is a well deserving choice as the 1st team All King Co 2nd baseman was among league leaders in several offensive categories for the 18-2 Mustangs. Congrats Tim !

 

Wilson, Stanford Earn All KingCo Honors

Redmond 2nd baseman Tim Wilsn eaned1st Team Honors andInglemoor's  Alex S tanford was 2nd Team this spring. Both will join Inglemoor's Jeff Postetter in the feeder game June 3rd. Good Job guys !

 

 

McNaghten Places at State Wrestling Championships

Blanchet wrestler Adam McNaghten made his 3rd trip to the Mat Classic and earned a 6th Place Medal at the 3A 145 lb weight class - arguably the toughest individual weight class in the entire 4 class tournament.  McNaghten opened with the returning national champion, wrestled  4 other ranked wrestlers, had 2 overtime matches, and beat 2 two returning placers to earn a spot on the medal stand. Outstanding effort Adam - a job well done !

 

 

Stanford Times Player of the Week

Lux shortstop Alex Stanford was selected as the Seattle Times Player of the Week for his efforts on the gridiron this past weeked. The Inglemoor senior tailback and defensive had two interceptions, 8 tackles and scored a touchdown in the Vikings 7-3 playoff victory over 9th ranked Rogers Rams. Outstanding job Alex !

Beill, Richardson Rollin' in Minors

Reports coming in on Lux alums Dustin Beill ('06) and Hilton Richardson (07)are very positive as both are doing very well in their minor league assignments.  Richardson (Royals 7th Round) had an 'inside-the-park' home run on Thursday in Arizona. Beill (Tampa Bay 5th Round) is an every day starter in W. Virginia.

 

Donovan Set to Play at Skagit

Jeff Donovan has given is commitment to play next year at Skagit Valley CC. 'Dono' has been a work horse for boh Lux Homes and Inglemoor HS for the past two seasons and a is looking forward to playing in the NWAAC

 

DK to Play at Occidental

Lux senior Danny Kelley has signed on the dotted line to play next year at Occidental College in California.  A 4.0 student at Seattle Prep who has his sights on medicine, Kelley is Mr. Versatile for Lux  as a lead off hitter who has played 6 positions during his tenure with the club.  Kelley will play infield at Occidental. Congrats DK

 

Neumann / Buttermore Return to Lux Line Up

Junior Ryan Neumann, out since the last Lake Wash HS playoff game with a broken hand, got back tonight and joined his buddies in a win over EBC.  A long couple months for Ryan is finally over and we are excited to have him behind the dish again.  Jon Buttermore, also on the DL for last couple months, made his first appearance on the hill in Arizona.  Buttermore will be a hge boost to a very tough pitching staff for the Championship run...Welcome back Ry & Jon!

Strum Signs with Edmonds

Juanita HS senior and Lux outfielder Kraig Strum has signed his Letter of Intent to play next year at Edmonds CC.  Enjoying and great summer, Strum is excited about joining teammate Chris Spencer at ECC.

Buttermore Commits to Shoreline

Jon Buttermoe has committed to play for Coach Seki at Shoreline CC next year.  The Inglemoor grad was a Times Player of the Week and is back in the rotation for Lux for a second year. Congrats Butter !

 

Richardson Is a Royal

Lux Homes centerfielder Hilton Richardson received the good news Friday when the Kansas City Royals claimed him with their 7th round pick in this weeks MLB Draft.  Richardson is an gifted athlete who graduated from Lake Wash HS this year, was a big part of the Lux success this summer hitting over .400 as the everyday starter in center. All of your buddies at Lux wish you the best of luck Hilton.

Lux Enjoys 'Miracle League'debut

Lux Homes players Chad Bickerdike & Adam McNaghten enjoyed a great Saturday volunteering as 'buddies' for disabled youngsters in their Miracle League baseball game this weekend. "It's incredible to watch these kids have so much fun.  That's what it's all about' noted Coach McNaghten.  Lux will continue their affiliation with the Miracle League in the weeks to come.

 

Gio Commits to B.C.C

Lux catcher extraordinaire Giovanni Learned has given his commitment to play for Coach Mark Yoshino & the Bellevue CC Bulldogs next year.  Gio has been highly sought after by many colleges and BCC is fortunate to land such a talented player.

 

Kelley Prep's Most Inspirational

Senior Danny Kelley was voted Most Inspirational for the State Qualifying Seattle Prep Panthers yesterday. Kelley is well known for unselfish play, versatility and 'team first' attitude. Congrats Danny on a well deserved acknowledgement.

 

Millet Named 1st Team

Redmond senior JB Millet was named 1st team All Kingco at 2nd base today.  This ii the 3rd year JB has received post season honors for the Mustangs.

 

B.C.C Wins League

Coach McCracken and the Bulldogs of Bellevue Community College took both games Saturday against Skagit Valley earning the #1 seed for the NWAAC Tourney.  Former Heat standouts Shane Hoey & Adam Villalobos contributed to the BCC victories.

 

HEAT 15's WIN TOURNEY

The junior team of the organization, the Heat 15's, won their first trophy of the season taking the Viper Wood Bat Tourney in Blaine.  The Heat played iron man baseball winning all 3 games on Saturday to claim the hardware. Way to go you guys !

 

Neumann on the DL

Catcher Ryan Neumann suffered a slight break to his right hand in the Lake Washington HS playoff game this week.  The injury puts Ry out for about 4 weeks and he is scheduled to return to the line up in early June.

 

Zee Signs with Olympic

LUX 3rd baseman Tyler Zeman has signed his Letter of Intent to join the Olympic CC program this coming year.  Coach Parker, in his first year at Olympic, and has some rebuilding to do and plans for Tyler to help significantly in that effort. 

 

Butter Earns Times Athlete of the Week

Lux senior Jon Buttermore was named the Seattle Times Athlete of the Week. In a dominating outing, Butter threw a No Hitter against Garfield & got  big KingCo win for the Inglemoor Vikings. You da man Johnny!

 

McNaghten Top Grappler

Junior Adam McNaghten, who won his 2nd league wrestling championship this year and competed again at the Washington State Wrestling Championships this past week, was honored by his peers as the Outstanding Wrestler for the Bishop Blanchet Braves.  Adam had over 30 wins again this season and is looking forward to an even stronger senior year for the Braves!  Congrats Adam !!

 

Richardson Commits to Utah 

Hilton Richardson announced his intention to play baseball for Coach Kinneberg at the University of Utah.  Coach Kinneberg says: "Hilton is one of the better athletes coming out of high school in the country. He is a very gifted athlete, who can really run. By the end of his career, he could really be a great player for us."  The Lux Homes centerfielder is a senior at Lake Washington High School and should be a big part of the Kangs run towards another King Co crown. Outstanding news about an outstanding young man - Way to go Hilton !

 

Stanford Receives Grid Iron Accolades

 In addition to his skills on the baseball field, Alex Stanford also brings it a little on the football field for Inglemoor HS. As a two way starter for Coach Naish and the Viking football team, Stanford (a junior) received All King Co Honorable Mention acknowledgement for his outstanding play this past season at Safety. Great job Alex!

 

McCracken to Coach at B.C.C

In addition to his role as an assistant coach with Lux Homes again this season, Dana McCracken has joined the  coaching staff at Bellevue Community College.  An alum of B.C.C prior to playing at Hawaii, Dana is excited about the opportunity to work with one of the top CC programs in the northwest.  Congrats Coach !

HEAT  ALUM  INVOLVED  IN  MOYER  TRADE

Kirkland Heat alum ( '98 & '99) and Juanita HS star Andy Barb was one of two minor league players involved in the recent Jamie Moyer trade.  Barb was drafted out of high school by the Phillies and is now in the Mariner farm system.  Glad to have ya back home Andy !

 

Biell Gives Verbal to WSU(7/17)

Lux centerfielder Dustin Biell has made his choice official - he plans to play baseball at Washington State University in 2008. Biell gave a verbal commitment today to the Cougars. The Inglemoor junior is excited about the opportunity and looking forward to the challenge. Congratulation DB !

 

Zeman Returns(7/5)

Juanita junior Tyler Zeman, who suffered an injury to his finger, has returned to the club.  Thought to be out for the year, rehab and effort resulted in Tyler getting his first at bats of the year on Tuesday. Welcome back Ty !

 

Biell & Learned Get Invite(6/26)

Lux Homes will be well represented at this years State Prospect Games. Centerfielder Dustin Biell &    catcher Giovanni Learned received invites by Northwest Baseball to attend. Both are having exceptional summers and are well deserving of such acknowledgement. Way to go you two !

 

MCNAGHTEN LANDS BASEBALL HONORS (5/31)

Seattle - Sam McNaghten of Bishop Blanchet HS was voted 1st Team All Metro today. The senior catcher who is better known for his abilities on the wrestling mat, was one of two Braves selected.  Coach George Monica was particularly proud of Sam for maintaining a 70% rate for throwing out runners over the past two years as the Brave's everyday back stop. 

 

Rockwell Shows Pop at Wesco Feeder Game (5/31)

Everett - Edmonds Woodway 2B Zack Rockwell enjoyed a great day at the Wesco feeder game today turning a sweet double play & collecting 2 hits - including a Double mashed off the wall in left center. The senior game was particularly enjoyable for Rockwell who played with many close buddies from other schools in the conference whom he had teamed up with over the years in summer ball. "It was one of the most fun games I've ever played in" Rockwell stated.

 

SPENCER SIGNS WITH EDMONDS CC (5/26)

Juanita senior pitcher Chris Spencer has committed to play at Edmonds CC next year.  Several colleges were showing a lot of interest in Chris who was the Ace of the Rebel club this past spring.  "I really liked the coaches, it's fairly close to home and it just felt right" Spencer was quoted after making his decision. "I am really looking forward to it" he added. 

 

BIELL NAMED TO FIRST TEAM (5/24)

Bothell - Inglemoor junior and Lux BB centerfielder extraordinaire Dustin Biell has been selected All Kingco Conference 1st team this past week. The sole Viking to make the team, Dustin was among the league leaders in several categories including batting average (3rd) .523, Doubles (1st), and homeruns (2nd). Congrats on a great achievement DB !

 

LEACH & STRUM EARN JUANITA POST SEASON HONORS (5/23)

Juanita juniors BJ Leach and Kraig Strum both earned Honorable Mention acknowledgement for their efforts this year with the Rebels.  Leach primarily played 1st with Strum roaming the outfield and both did very well offensively for the Rebels and are looking forward to 2007.

 

Zeman out for the year! (5/23)

Kirkland - Projected as a starter this summer, Juanita Junior Tyler Zeman suffered a freak accident injuring his hand and will likely miss the season with LB.  The nature of the injury is sketchy but should not be long term.  "This is a huge disappointment for us - Zee was an everyday guy and a big RBI man in the line up" noted Coach McCracken. Zeman was a pivotal part of the Heat 16 success last summer at the plate, on the mound and at 3rd base.

 

Rockwell decides on Wenatchee Valley (5/22)

Wenatchee - Edmonds Woodway middle infielder Zac Rockwell has given his oral commitment to Wenatchee Valley CC for next season.  "We are very excited to have Zac with us" Coach Duda stated. The Knights finished 2nd in their conference and earned a trip to the NWAAC Championships this year.
